Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it any time. The long version is below.
Who we are
The Boring Works ("we", "us") runs theboringworks.com and sells digital business systems. For any privacy question or request, email info@theboringworks.com.
What we collect and why
1. Free planner signup (Brevo)
When you ask for the free planner, we collect your first name and email address. We use them to send the confirmation email, the planner, and occasional emails from us (useful tips and product news). Legal basis: your consent, which you give by signing up and confirming. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click.
2. Purchases (Gumroad)
Checkout happens on Gumroad, not on this site. Gumroad collects your payment and billing details and shares your name, email, and order details with us so we can deliver the product and handle refunds. We never see your card details. Legal basis: performing the contract you entered when you bought.
3. Analytics and ads (only if you say yes)
If you accept them in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to count visits and Meta Pixel to measure our ads. We also note which campaign link or ad brought you here (UTM tags and Meta's click id) and pass it on to Google, Meta, our Gumroad checkout, and Brevo if you sign up for the planner. If you reject them, these scripts never load and nothing is saved. Legal basis: your consent, which you can change any time through "Cookie settings" in the footer. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
4. Emails you send us
If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
5. Hosting logs
Our web host records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) to keep the site secure and running. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure website.

We don't sell your data and we don't share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it. Some of these services are outside the EU. Where that's the case, they rely on approved safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After unsubscribing we keep only what's needed to not email you again.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Emails you send us: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
- Your cookie choice: 12 months, then we ask again.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months, then Google Analytics deletes it.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, UK, or a country with similar laws (including Singapore's PDPA), you can ask us to:
- show you the data we have about you, and give you a copy
- correct it, or delete it
- stop or limit using it, or object to how we use it
- move it to another service
- withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect anything done before you withdrew)
Email info@theboringworks.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is for business owners. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes, we'll also mention by email.
